#1 EATING FRUITS AFTER MEALS-
Do you love eating sweets after meals? Since we are health conscious, we prefer fruits instead. But do you know that doing that you're messing up with your digestive system. So let's say, you eat 2 chapattis and then a slice of fruit, now the problem will arise because the fruits are digested by the body much faster. The slice of food is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines but it is prevented from doing so because the chapattis being taken before the fruits. In stomach, when fruit comes in contact with food and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil, why? because it starts fermenting.FERMENTATION TAKES PLACE-> FOOD SPOILS
#2 CUTTING AND STORING FRUITS-
In today's fast life, we like eating on the go, we cut the fruits a night before and store in the fridge for next morning. We take sliced fruits to our work place or school in the box just because we think we're having a healthy meal. But did you know that fruits after cutting and stored for long hours result in the loss of about 75% of its nutrients. Fruits when cut should be consumed within 20 minutes for else they start losing their potency. Not just this, fruits which are otherwise alkaline when eaten this way, cause acidity in the body. Doung this daily may make your blood a little more acidic which inturn causes skin issues, graying of hairs and even hairfall. Its great that you choose fruits as a snack option, just make sure you do not cut it prior, instead take whole food along.#3 NOT EATING LOCAL FRUITS-
Exotic fruits are getting popular in fashion. Nowadays, fruits stalls are loded with exotic fruits like- kiwi, strawberries and avocados. People are switching to foreign fruits and ditch the local produce, thinking the former to have some magical nutrients. This is what intensive marketing does, but the reality is quite the opposite. There is a reason why a certain fruit grows in a certain region and certain climatic conditions. Fruits which are local, ripe and in season is like the pure nectar for the body. The absorption of local fruits is much higher than that from exotic ones. No doubt, kiwi and berries are very nutritious but only for the people who live near the place where it grows naturally. We should stick to our very own banana, orange, papaya and guava, e.t.c. Moreover, exotic fruits are heavily overpriced. This will not only help you to grow healthy but also help local producers who give their everything to grow these superfoods, plus it will help Indian economy too.#4 DRINKING FRUIT JUICES-
Do you prefer fruit juices over whole fruits. Well drinking fruit juices is okay but eating whole fruits is much better, reasons are many. Firstly, when you drink fruit juices, you miss out on very important constituent called the 'dietry fibre'. We all know how dietry fibre is important for digestion and for smooth bowel movements. Secondly, fruit juices are high in sugar and people mislead this as they think it hinders their fat loss process then definitely eat whole fruits. The dietry fibre in whole fruits promotes fat loss and does not even spike the blood insulin levels. One more thing that most of us are unaware is that when we crush the fruit in a mixer, excess heat generated from the fruit juicer/blender destroys nutrients. Well you can drink fruit juices sometimes but mostly prefer eating whole fruits and when I say fruit juice, I mean fresh fruit juice not the packed juice which hardly have any nutritional value. On the contrary, they are loded with added sugar, preservatives and artificial flavours.#5 COMBINING FRUITS WITH MILK-
We Indians can't go without evening cup of tea and when we get diet conscious, out goes the namkeen and in comes the fruits. However, the least we realise is that the combination of fruits and milk is not a healthy one. Milk should never be combined with sour fruits like oranges and sometimes apples. Doing so, irregular reactions occur in the body, the ill effects of which are very sweet and ripe (like riped banana) may be consumed.#6 EATING FRUITS AT NIGHT-
Many people think that fruits being healthy can be consumed at anytime of the day. Well thats not true. It is recommended, not to eat fruits post sunset as the body's ability to assimilate the nutrients from the fruit vanishes, and because fruits are high in sugar also lead to gain in weight plus fruits consumed late at night may cause heart burn due to acidity and may disrupt sleep cycles.
